It took a while but my crocheted amigurumi Mothman is complete.
About 2 inches wide (~ 5 cm) and 3 inches tall (~8 cm) this guy could use a friend in you. Do you want them?
(Note: I have shedding animals in my house. This lil lad probably contains fur as a result. If that is an allergen problem for you I totally understand!)

so last Xmas @douglasfur did a little fundraiser during our monsterdon viewing of Snow Beast
I would really like to do a even bigger version this xmas (not necessarily with Snow Beast)
the idea: we raffle a few select items off, people donate to a charity (we can make a list of charities) they send us a screenshot showing they donated and they're entered into the raffle
we would need some things to raffle off and someone to be the person who the screenshots get sent to and who keeps us posted with running totals of donations
also if there are any lawyers on here please let us know about any potential legal issues here. we would not be taking any money from anyone, just directing them to charity sites and asking for screenshots to show they donated

#monsterdon So as funny as it seems, Hammer kinda ran out of patience with the director of this silly film. So they just stopped principal photography and he took the entire shebang to an editor and said “Make this into a movie." and well, here we are.

Kind of appreciating the fediverse even more since I made a Bluesky account. Bluesky feels like a bunch of people selling themselves and vying for attention and fedi is more like hanging out in someone's garage shooting the breeze and eating chips. The real clincher was last night watching posts from monsterdon and realizing, yeah, this place actually feels like a community where people participate. and that's the real difference. People are here because they want to be, not because they've heard it's the place they should be. #fedi #Monsterdon
this movie is actually really good for how on the nose it's a movie about keeping the war machine going by turning against Americans against each other; most specifically, Americans harboring foreign ideas and people in their minds and homes.

#Gojira is definitely a serious film noire and horror movie. it's not a tongue in cheek monster movie. that's what it became later. these first 15-20 minutes are really painting the background of a horrible collective tragedy.
