not looking forward to the coroner (Whittington? did we even get his name? I have trouble remembering names in this movie) being killed in this scene

he's one of the least dislikeable characters

Normally I would applaud male nudity but this movie put me through too much and it's not worth it.

We learn that the church has strange werewolf-like imagery, then we split the party to investigate it. Then we think we see or hear a monster and flee from the church at high speed to hang out in a pub.

Different Headband suspects the thing they saw was some junkies. Natalie asks him if he's killed anyone because he said he wanted to be a cop because he likes killing. He asks "why don't you ask how many?"

The monster gets bored and decides to go attack random people.

i hate when you're just chilling watching a movie and the movie takes a sudden 'yeah we're all christian here obviously' and you realize you were absolutely never the intended viewer

i can't tell if someone needs to take away the fx board from editing or tell them to daisy chain them and turn this thing into just a narrative-free music video. is there a maximum overvibe recut of wolfen yet #monsterdon

Amazed they rented a thermal camera in 1981 just for this movie. That must have cost them half the national debt.

Wow, cool heli footage over Battery Park! I don't think I've ever seen it from the air in a movie (or otherwise, come to think of it)

Kinda wild that this is six years before PREDATOR and going for a similar "the monster's vision" thing.

But ah, not at all sticking the landing.

This concludes my thread for Wolfen, a movie in which we learned things we already knew, that rich real estate moguls are bad, and things we didn't know, like how werewolves steal brains for no reason.

Wolfen! I guess gentrification is a good thing! β›ͺπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ˜’

Thanks as always to @Taweret for being a total alpha, and extra special thanks to the crew for running around with your bums out.

I'm going to go scratch a monster energy logo on my face and sweat some more!

We get a montage of wolves running and howling. Then Different Headband says something that the writers thought was profound, and then I think we see that he's quit his cop job and is now working construction with Original Headband, because construction is good and wholesome sometimes but bad and summons werewolves other times.

Then credits.

$17 million budget (1981) against about a $10.7 million box office take.

Honestly I'm surprised it got that much back.

It turns out the rich guy's office is not completely safe from wolves, because while wolves cannot use elevators they can climb skyscrapers and jump through windows for some reason.

Nat and Different Headband retreat from the wolf parliament and into the rich guy's office, which is safe from wolves because wolves cannot use elevators.

Meanwhile other cops are showing up to investigate the wolf parliament murder they fled from and put out the cop car fire.

Oh wait, it's not one wolf. It's like six wolves. They are having a wolf party. One bites the boss cop, who flees to a car, then the other one sneaks into the car and eats him.

They ignore Different Headband and Natalie, for some reason, who use their guns to explode the car because guns can explode cars in this universe.

So, the moral of the story is – forget your technology and modern society. The ancient wolfen is out there and doing stuff.

Not sure they've resolved anything, and they're short a coroner.

@SnoopJ I would definitely see the movie where the solution to the monster is to make sure there aren't any abandoned people in society.

@moira @RobynGoodfellow I guess it must have varied then?

The mopeds I had on the lates 70s and 80s were generally capped at 30 unless they had been modified, (there is a big thing in Europe with modifying them for high speed). Capping is pretty easy to remove because it's just a regulator on the carburetor. One moped I owned in the 80s could do 60mph, but on a flat road for 2 miles (modified).

For a machine to legally qualify as a moped they can't exceed 30 mph?

And that's when we learned the real monsters were the friends we made along the way.

Sorry I was hoping that would make the movie end, but sadly not.

#monsterdon Sure their previous interactions definitely lead up organically to a sex scene.

It's a normal thing to do when you don't respect your coworker.
