@Louisa I'm still in shock that we got Edward James Olmos dong. Mostly shadowy and in motion dong, but non-sexualized dong in a movie is so exceedingly rare that I can forgive "this character decided to bare his ass for some reason"

The people that decided to film most of the Fallout show in a California state park should have watched this

I like the aesthetics of this movie more than most of its other aspects. The urban ruin is cool. The cop spy center is cool. The sets are nice and things are moody.

I didn't realize that was Edward James Olmos. I don't think I ever saw him in anything before the Battlestar reboot.

Terencio

This movie shoulda cut everything except naked Edward James Olmos and that kitty from the lady's apartment. And some of the location shots.

@SnoopJ It's definitely a leitmotif for the USS Reliant, burned into my brain at a basic childhood neural level.

There's a line in the novel Red Dragon where the protagonist is so fatigued trying to solve the serial-killer case that he's operating on "the level where six feet was always the height of his father and north was Highway 61", or close to that.

"I told you, it's all in the head."

Ok, but I think I made it pretty clear that I was looking for someone who can actually turn into a wolf. Know anybody like that?

#monsterdon This reminds me of when I went to Sydney. They've turned the Harbor Bridge into a tourist trap and they give guided tours where you climb across the top like a construction worker. Terrifying, but good fun.

Anyway, I'm sure something will happen in this film eventually.

#monsterdon Whitley Streiber, hopeless "brilliant" slobs who never do anything brilliant and who can't even give a straight answer to a simple question DO NOT DESERVE a beautiful, intelligent woman doting on them!! Stop it

I forgot to mention that the evil rich guy had a pentagram ring with a goat on it, so this movie spreads the harmful stereotype that satanists are rich.

Was thinking I hadn't seen Gregory Hines do anything in a long time.

Looks like he died in 2003 at the age of 57. Too bad, was a decent actor.

It always amuses me how computers, TVs, and phones in a fancy car were like the pinnacle of wealth and technology in this era.

Like my phone is more powerful than all of that stuff now.

I don't know, something about wolves and native americans. Here's 1 million to film and 3 million for the coke to finish the writing.

Thanks pack for the fun comments for sprucing-up this dog-slow drag of a film, and to @Taweret for hosting!

I knew I recognized the obviously autistic taxidermist/natural historian actor!

Tom Noonan plays Dr. Ferguson, and has been in all kinds of stuff... this was only his fourth movie.

F/X, Robocop 1/2, The Astronaut's Wife... all bigguns.

Fun fact: The brooklyn bridge is a thing I can sell you shares in if you are as gullible as this joke suggests.

You sure you don't want a haircut? You could lose the headband. You're lookin' like Columbo watched Rambo once and got excited about it

And with that we jump off the Brooklyn Bridge to end another #monsterdon ! Loved the cinematography; hated the script. Acting was up and down. I had fun but was bored a fair bit.

thanks as always to @Taweret for hosting this shindig! Extra thanks to @JoeWynne for all the trivia tonight, and for @cherizilla 's bingo and @ryan 's stream if you partake.

That's it for me everyone, see you next week for whatever we pick! Zzzzzzzz.

They really did not know what to do to wrap up this plot, did they?

"…and we'll do a psychedelic multi-dissolve sequence of running wolves and stuff, with some vague voice-overs and roll credits."

What if instead of shooting the wolves you poured them glasses of bourbon from the fancy home bar?

not looking forward to the coroner (Whittington? did we even get his name? I have trouble remembering names in this movie) being killed in this scene

he's one of the least dislikeable characters
