I'm already not sure what's going on

#monsterdon

...I should screenprint a shirt with a map of my house on it, showing where I keep my valuables. #Monsterdon

I really hope THIS does not count as "choreography" #Monsterdon 🤖 #TheRobotVsTheAztecMummy

I want a big ritual with chanting when I die

#monsterdon

So far, the movie appears to a long-form Aztec music video. #Monsterdon

Wait a second, we’ve heard this legend before.
#monsterdon

Aztec Opera

#Monsterdon

Some bad singing, must be an historical society film
#monsterdon

That whistle is a curse only matched by the singing.

#monsterdon

the Aztecs had dry ice? truly a marvel #Monsterdon

As a Brit still trying to get my head around 'X' being 'Z' but a lot of people do it, so....

Are these Aztec scenes authentic? Did they have Opera?

#monsterdon

Flashback sequence without any harp sounds? What kind of movie sacrilege is this!?

#monsterdon

okay now we're flashing back to the movie they flashed back to in the previous movie

#monsterdon #TheRobotVsTheAztecMummy

Ooh. Is this the same old breastplate? #Monsterdon

Wait, didn't they leave the breastplate in the pyramid?

#monsterdon

Nice exteriors of Aztec pyramids in the opening disclaimer "Factual data mixed with fiction apparently. So I guess the Aztec mummies are the factual part, right?

#Monsterdon
.

The narrator sounds like he's introducing a 1980s game show. #Monsterdon

Not the Aztec breastplate!

#monsterdon

Oh well, if they went to a Notary Public. #Monsterdon

If it is mixed with fiction, why do the facts have to be sworn to thy notary public to preclude the possibility of fraud? 🤔

#Monsterdon

The #Monsterdon is rolling

What would we call these mixed fonts?

#monsterdon

"How far can the human mind penetrate the mysteries of the universe"

My friday night with a bag of weed

#monsterdon

Abbott and Costello vs The Aztec Mummy is my favorite in this series

#TheRobotVsTheAztecMummy

WE GOT MOVIE SIGN

#monsterdon #RobotVsTheAztecMumny

If only it weren’t for those meddling kids I mean academics and woman who always gets hypnotized #Monsterdon

I love total chaotic feralness of the superhero and his ten-year-old rescuer beating the bad guys to the floor with boards

#Monsterdon

@steggy HE CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

#Monsterdon

@bunnyhero

It is the #Monsterdon Double Feature of Pain

"Get your hands in the air" like you just don't care!

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

The death chamber seems to be taking its sweet time

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

🐍🎉SNAKE PIT!!!!🐍🎉 #monsterdon #thecurseoftheaztecmummy

This was a surprising fight move. #monsterdon

EL SANTO always does this. he always gets roughed up and then he somehow overcomes. i hate that. just beat the shit out of them when you're ahead of the game dude!

#Monsterdon #CurseOfTheAztecMummy

#monsterdon Flora has utterly failed her Bechdel Test. ;)

3 on 1! No fair! Lucha!!!!

#monsterdon

I wonder if the death chamber has a secret back door like the snake pit

#Monsterdon

Luis Aceves Castañeda as the mad scientist is awesome.

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy #DoubleFeature

Unmask him! #thecurseoftheaztecmummy #monsterdon

This would have been the perfect opportunity for the wrestling women to pop in and make a legitimate contribution to the story

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

Guys, this is not how you defend a thesis!

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

I was busy writing toots, but I thought this guy said "you mom called." #monsterdon

@moira Being a mad scientist sounds fun

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

The evil guy seems out of character somehow

#monsterdon
#TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

honestly the mad scientist is the only one who ever looks like he's having a good time in these things

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

"I have no doubt that you are plenty of a man, I'll have to try you out."

This movie took a little kinky turn.
#monsterdon

@blogdiva He's comfortable with himself.

#monsterdon

OK I think I'm following some semblance of a plot here

I am mildly concerned, this feels wrong

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

damn (oh, damn) missed the first 30min, 'cause I had to make a late meal... uh, it's the same movie hahahahaha I haven't missed a thing!
#monsterdon

@Bluedepth With his henchmen Martini & Rossi. #monsterdon

Doctor doctor, give me the news, I've got a bad case of... wanting to beat you.

#Monsterdon

@JoeWynne No one could afford a pocketwatch on this shoot, got it.

#monsterdon

@whknott
They didn't have the budget for a mesmerizing device? 😞

#Monsterdon Double Feature of Pain
#CurseOfTheAztecMummy

@moira Maybe Mothra's fairies could get in on that too

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

I missed the introduction of Angel - he looks like a character that would haunt my dreams but apparently he's a good guy?

#Monsterdon

this kid and the OG gamera kids should team up in some kind of League of Monster Kids

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

"I have a plan. You could reach him by telephone."

That's why HE is the boss. He has PLANS, like picking up the phone. #monsterdon

@crazypedia@officemarx.party you would have had to have skipped a Commander Cody jetpack short at the beginning, and two skits/commercial interruptions. Not unlike a Tubi watch

#Monsterdon

"you're slowly getting tired..."

"you feel that you must rest..."

"you are sleeping"

okay

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

#monsterdon I think a lot of people really kind of want this shot, and some commands like "sleep of the dead” which sounds so restorative and resting right about now. The audience is in the trance, except no point to do so, we're bored to tears.

@hollie "lie down right there"
"error not authorized"
"sudo lie down right there"
"Ok"
#monsterdon

"Laura, I'm your master"
Laura: The fuck you are.

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

The microscope: very important for hypnosis

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

Small microscope desk with no light. The Bat is on The Budget.

#Monsterdon Double Feature of Pain
#CurseOfTheAztecMummy

it's dramatically critical to wait until you hear the door click to end the scene. _critical._

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

oh wait is jerry lewis secretly the luchador? does that work?

wait i don't think it works nevermind

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

Ah, the classic hide behind the door trick... except, wait, the door doesn't open out....

#monsterdon

@whknott @JoeWynne lol yup

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

@whknott It's like when you use your copier to reproduce copies of an original document too many times #monsterdon

Women in these movies are brilliant at three things

1. Kissin'
2. Sassin'
3. Finding ancient and cursed creatures

#Monsterdon

@diazona @whknott

Bad scripts, acting, sets, music, voiceovers - all have been normalized!!

#Monsterdon Double Feature of Pain
#CurseOfTheAztecMummy

@whknott
Yes, MY ONLY FAULT with this movie!

#Monsterdon Double Feature of Pain
#CurseOfTheAztecMummy

@whknott @JoeWynne Perhaps it's a situation where, having been desensitized to all the other faults, we now get around to the historical accuracy

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

@diazona @lytta

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think these #monsterdon movies are *supposed* to be bad? 😂

@diazona She couldn't help it. Sooner or later, the rhythm IS gonna get you.

#Monsterdon

@moira breastplate*

#monsterdon

I think they may have overdubbed the Aztec orchestra with a better rhythm section

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

@blogdiva someone was making BANK if they just kept churning this shit out

#monsterdon

and for the love of god, keep your vests on. you never know how hard it might hit.

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

(does a a little chair dance)

I still think it's got a good beat

#monsterdon

@hollie Tenochtitlan edition

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

So the Aztec Opera was such a compelling scene in movie 2 they had to bring it back for movie 3. #monsterdon

@nev It's a rare double feature

This one is actually better though (I mean, honestly, there's pretty much no way it could not have been better)

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

@hollie Will that be followed by the Da Aztec Vinci Code?

#Monsterdon

@moira The Robot movie had 43 minutes of flashbacks to this movie and this movie had about that much time left. Oh now, what have I do to us?

#monsterdon

The next movie will be called Déjà Vu of the Aztec Mummy

#Monsterdon

@blogdiva Exact same footage

#Monsterdon Double Feature
#CurseOfTheAztecMummy

@Mikal @jchaven @lytta I believe that is accurate

Some ignorable nonsense happened and we are now on Flor flashing back to her previous life as an Aztec

#Monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

"Wny are you wearing that mask?"
"No, no, that story takes too long."

If only the Robot folks had seen that line... #monsterdon

It's a flashback using footage from the movie we saw at 9PM.
#Monsterdon #Curse of the Aztec Mummy

I don't participate in #Monsterdon but I love seeing it on my timeline. Especially tonight when I see it's a double feature!

Thank you for all your silly posts about terrible horror movies, you're all awesome!

Take a shot every time a FLASHBACK happens! #monsterdon #thecurseoftheaztecmummy

Are these flashbacks to the movie we just watched? This is GOLD

#Monsterdon

#monsterdon The Youtube copy has dropped frames. Still playing along, ah well. hahahahah

This is already better than the robot one

#monsterdon

Wait, so they killed the luchador?? How am I this confused ALREADY???

But NO, he's ALIVE!!!

#monsterdon

@diazona @allanb this one is an actual, if silly, movie.

#monsterdon #TheCurseOfTheAztecMummy

Police killed by the Bat[s]men?

#Monsterdon
