Captain : Have them return to the ship and see that every man gets wine!

First Mate : [Waves once]

“I know you proposed we go alone into this place, but just the two of us?”

“I had planned for a nice romantic romp on an island. Is that not what you what?”

These shores are only zoned for parallel docking, that's why they're beached together. #Monsterdon

⁉️ GOLDEN VOYAGE OF TRIVIA ⛵🌊

👀 This landing of Sinbad and the others land on Lemuria. Notice the cliff covered with carvings.

Ray Harryhausen said in an interview that the cliff does not exist. The scene was shot on a popular beach in Spain and they had to hide spectators with a matte painting.

#GoldenVoyageOfSinbad1973

Oh so now Batman finds Sinbad?

#Monsterdon

Heyyy remember when we used this beach for Jason? good times. #monsterdon

Ahhh, the Isle of Hari-haus.

Jason must have removed all the giant statues already.

#monsterdon

They just knocked together the spare boat overnight.

As you do.

"We need someone to chew the scenery and occasionally look at the camera to make gnomic remarks."

Harryhausen is just showing off here. This is really good stuff for what it is. Actor's eye lines are all right. Perspective is good. The lighting on the models matches the scene. It's really something for 1973.

🦖#MONSTERDON 🎞️

⁉️ GOLDEN VOYAGE OF TRIVIA ⛵🌊

💡 Tom Baker was cast as Koura because Ray Harryhausen liked his inventiveness.

Baker definitely came through with a compelling performance and this led directly to him being cast in the role that would launch him to higher heights, the Fourth Doctor.
