"The skeletons were a big problem, they were only 8 inches high, and I had to conceal all of the ball joints and screw threads! ... My father actualy made the armatures for them on a lathe."

The rear projected stop motion technique was pretty good but the loss of quality on the background is brutal.

I like how King Neckbeard screams "The Children of the Night!" and then lightning flashes and the hydra immolates itself so his goons can go grap its teeth.

King Neckbeard's actor had the correct energy for that scene.

Looking at the argonauts' armor, it seems like they were trying to do a Greek linothorax armor (the common composite linen armor used in the Classical and Hellenistic eras), just made out of leather and with more bling added onto it in random places.

Meanwhile, the Colchisians seem to have a more Persian/Scythian mashup thing going for their gear.

"If you're not careful with this kind of sequence, it gets to be comical, and we didn't want a cartoon. Bernie's sequence was just perfect for this sequence."

#monsterdon I like how he just tosses the teeth out. Like he's throwing out candy to a crowd of children.

Few teeth here, a few teeth over there...

This would have been a great opportunity to bring back the healing flowers. It'd be a nice show of Jason learning from Medea and using that knowledge. A sign of respect. It would also let the movie reduce the powers of the fleece: it blesses the nation rather than individuals.

Alas.

"In the original, rotting corpses appear, which would not be very appealing and horrific. We were out to make an unusual sequence, not a horrific one. So clean cut skeletons emerge instead.
