you know, last night i watched The Island of Lost Souls (1932) thinking I might recommend it for #Monsterdon. I decided against it due to the critically demanding "racist/colonialist not-even-subtext that could also be interpreted as subversively anti-racist/anti-colonialist", but now I'm having second thoughts because, unlike this movie, it is actually competently made
