M base in their DNA?

Is this rather than AGCT? But M means A or C in standard encoding when ordering sequences. So maybe she means a variable site? I'm so confused.

Wow that was a blast! Sometimes ridiculous, but always an energizing blast. Thanks @Taweret for getting us lined up, and to @JoeWynne and @Cherizilla for accessorizing. Looking forward to joining you all next week. #Monsterdon :dancing_lizard:

Oh wait, I forgot to rate characters for Godzilla: Final Wars.

The best character was Japanese David Bowie, for being a cybergoth villain who was also made entirely of Ham.

The worst character was... um... huh... um... I dunno, they all seemed pretty fun. I'll go with the EDF's interior decorator. Put up a curtain or a painting somewhere, or a potted plant.

Listening to it back, I think that guy was "just" speaking Chinese

It looks like his character's name is Captain Li Xiang

I have no idea if or when this was established, but it stood out to me as something I hadn't seen before in a Godzilla flick

Anyway, I think that concludes my Godzilla: Final Wars thread?

This movie had so much going on I'm still confused by it and also I had hardly any time at all to see what everyone else posted? So I guess I'll go try to do that now? Thank you for reading?

I give Godzilla: Final War 5 out of 5 floating golf balls of doom, one golf ball for every 100 scenes. I was debating giving it 4.5 floating golf balls of doom, but I'm going to stick to integer ratings, on this account godzilladammit!

I didn't quite like it as much as Godzilla 2000, which was somehow even goofier, but it had similar manic energy. I mildly disliked the more austere tone, but I liked all the lasers and nonsense Kaiju battles.

I wish there had been even more of this prog sound in the rest of the soundtrack. I dig it.

Stand-out hero for me is still that Mega Drive-ish bass. So good.

While Ghidorah flogs Godzilla with his laser snot, I would like to spend a brief moment to discuss the aesthetics of this movie.

Most of the human structures we see follow a brutalist and minimalist pattern, and their uniforms seem rather fashy and also using a mostly monochrome palette - going from white to silver to black (except for the antarctica bros). I think in a western context the aesthetics of the EDF would be seen as dystopian, but I don't think that's the intent here?

In the conference of good, which is NOT inside a pumpkin latte themed spaceship, we learn that the aliens and most of the monsters have like mutant genes which make them susceptible to mind control, but Godzilla doesn't have that so it might be able to fight the monsters. But Godzilla might also destroy the world, so this is a risky plan.

#monsterdon So all of the clever stuff the reporter did with the dog was pointless.

If she'd just waited a few seconds the soldier guy would have just come in and shot the guy anyway.

Don't do an eye closeup unless you do your eyeliner correctly (in case you're wondering, no that wasn't correct).

How did I get on a makeup jag? I don't wear makeup.
