Rocking chair. In the TARDIS. #Monsterdon #DoctorWhoAndTheDaleks
can you hear me, Doctor Who?
are you really just a shadow of the man
of the man, who's a Time Load?
are you crazy? are you high?
or just an older Science Guy?
#Monsterdonπβ³πΈπ¨ββοΈβοΈπ€π―π±
Susie has excellent self-defense skills, in addition to her great intellect.
And they went home before the first act and the rest of the movie is just them having tea.
The end.
#monsterdon
"It's not possible for any human form to exist on this planet," says the human form clearly existing on this planet.
Flatscreen/widescreen. In 1965
#monsterdon Ian has the vestibular genius as a teen girl in a horror B-Movie. He will fall over absolutely everything! Break a leg, snap his meniscus to kingdom come, and whine like a proper little bitch. ;)
Also full disclosure I have never seen any Doctor Who media before, so.
@Binder They need to park their Jerry in the day care. #Monsterdon #DoctorWhoAndTheDaleks
A rocking chair in TARDIS? oh my, I approve.
I can't help but notice they never really introduced Dr. Who or explained why he's called Dr. Who or has such a taste for adventure
It's like the classic abrupt ending but it's a beginning
In this universe is Dr. who just a generic mad scientist who invented a time machine and has an annoying granddaughter? #monsterdon
Eccentric doctor and brilliant, irascible child lead young couple to doom. News at 11! #Monsterdon
Kid calling Ian a coward.
#Monsterdon
#Monsterdonπβ³πΈπ¨ββοΈβοΈπ€π―π±
how did he know he was Dr Who not 'grandfather'?
Ian spent the first 15 years of his life attending the Royal British Slapstick School for Comedy Geniuses
I am growing increasingly dubious that this version of Ian is going to have anything action-oriented in his wardrobe, never mind a sweater.
Ian tripping and falling into something has so far been both the cause of and solution to all the problems in the film.
My gods - it's a matte painting!
oi, tripped ovah the universal common ancestor I did, blimey
So, the man is the klutz character.. OK..
I want Ian to comically stumble into a lava pit. #monsterdon
soft centers all the way down, Ian
Seeing the creature with the caption "It has a soft center" is hilarious.
Loving the level of sheer nerd outrage emanating from the Monsterdon feed right now. This must be how insufferable I sound to other people
Late home after an outing. Just joining #Monsterdon already in progress.
#monsterdon I wonder why Dr. Who fans want nothing to do with this movie.
Honestly the thing I find most confusing about this is Peter Cushing is playing a character who isn't at least a little sinister if not plain evil and/or possibly Dracula.
I don't think petrified trees work like that. (Okay, lots of things don't)
I, for one, welcome our smug precocious scientific granddaughter overlords
so, they could be anywhere in time and/or space, but of course they're still on the earth? do the writers understand what words mean?
#monsterdon I wasn't expecting Peter Cushing's Dr Who to be so fussy.
dr where and when
The forest fire couldn't have been that bad, it didn't moonscape the forest
love embrace starts an adventure! whee! lol
Ian you fucking coward
"Yes, I've started the plot. Sorry, grandfather"
This is some Alternative Universe Dr Who... #monsterdon
She's more precocious on the inside.
#monsterdon
#monsterdon we don't even get the whoop, whoop noise?
this is _not_ an OSHA-approved Tardis.
Seeing the comments, I feel like I may be watching the wrong Dr Who movie. #Monsterdon
Lost in space (and time)
The NFL is over, the Olympics are over. Looks like a good night to get back into the swing of #monsterdon with βDr. Who and the Daleksβ with Peter Cushing as The Doctor.
I have reasonably limited expectations for this, but it should be entertaining. And amazingly enough, Iβve never seen it. #DrWhoandTheDaleks
Ah, yes, the hug that sets off the plot
@moira Dash it all! I should have made tea and bought jammy dodgers for this week.
#Monsterdon #DrWhoAndTheDaleks
"super-ionized electrokinetic pre-oscillator"
Also, wire management is a problem for our dear Dr.
okay this is actually the worst tardis set I've ever seen
The Tardis is a transporter!
Oh yeah! That first time on a tardis shock π #Monsterdon
So .. this feels like the beginning of Austin Powers not Doctor who? But maybe watching only Eccleston and Tenant Iβm missing out on some history of groovy intros
The problem with the NSF under the current administration is they have filled it with electrokinetic theory deniers.
"in electrokinetic theoryβ¦"
"Yes sir. The entire prop department."
Stop calling him Who! He doesn't even play baseball. #Monsterdon
WORST. CONTROL. ROOM. EVAR.
It's smaller on the outside
"it's bigger on the inside"
"super-ionized electrokinetic pre-oscillator"
This is Star Trek quality technobabble
He pulled a Matt Smith with that fall into the foyer.
And sitting on the candy.
And almost sitting on the machine that goes ping.
How dare he almost sit on⦠one of those things.
#rootpost for #monsterdon
@Cosmosis I was just telling my son that dr who doesnβt do pratfalls and he accused me of being a doctor who purist #monsterdon
oops sat on the cat

Nice knockers!
Why thank you, Doctor!
#Monsterdonπβ³πΈπ¨ββοΈβοΈπ€π―π±
I want that knocker
*watching opening credits* Was this made in the same year as Elvis Presleyβs Viva Las Vegas?
(almost)
And Roger Rabbit bursts through the scene yelling ... TWO BITS!
Very Bond music to start off
Ah yes. Science book.
#monsterdon And here we go. 1966 Science Fiction. This is going to be jarring. Jazz... of course. Always Jazz.

I remember my friends that like Dr. Who always going on about "Susan"
#Monsterdonπβ³πΈπ¨ββοΈβοΈπ€π―π±
NICE credits font! Wacky and orange!
(emphatic orchestra music)
Peter Cushing as a groooovy Dr. Who #Monsterdon
Dun Dun Dun - Dun Dun Dun - Dun Dun Dun - Oooohhhhhh - Weeeeee - Oooohhhhhhh
Wait, wait, wait. Stop. What is this music? This is not the Doctor's music. This is like .... Dalek Jazz?
Dr. Who, the βbrilliant science professor," and his two granddaughters?
This is going to be a ride.
Ok! This is a new one for me as in a bad-ish movie that's well known. So... are we considering this a bad movie? Does it change things given that it's Bri-ish? #Monsterdon #DoctorWhoAndTheDaleks π½π₯πΏ
WE GOT WRONG DOCTOR SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGN!!!
Was the romance sub plot pout in here to make the movie more interesting? I mean it is kinda working. The cliche melodrama is better than the slow serial killer plot.
#Monsterdon #TheFleshandTheFiends
Huh. This is probably the movie with the most boobs per minute of any Wrong Frogs.
#Monsterdon #TheFleshandTheFiends
@nazokiyoubinbou This one maybe? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0394062/ Came out 4 years after The Flesh and the Fiends. #monsterdon
@nazokiyoubinbou This is based on the real-life Burke & Hare murders (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burke_and_Hare_murders), so maybe Hitchcocks show did the same. #monsterdon
@nazokiyoubinbou It's not just a story, it's history.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burke_and_Hare_murders
#Monsterdon #TheFleshandTheFiends
Hey #Monsterdon I'm only half watching this second movie playing on Miru's stream, but...
This was on an Alfred Hitchcock episode... I've seen a few other things since that I realized came from some author that got adapted for show. Even one thing that was directly from an author who was used several times on it I think even. Is that what's going on here too? Is this from some story that got adapted to that too?
It feels like sometimes that show was just used to bring stories over to America that would have been missed otherwise.
