@msh idk they seem to be autonomous, since presumably whatever fried the connection back to the home server that the company would be monitoring on would have toasted the on-site control system. probably military surplus rather than commercial origin, which would explain having the plasma weapons and killbot programming #monsterdon

1986 was your ultimate year for getting cheap, good stunt work. There were so many people working for TV in action shows at that point, that even the 3rd string people would have turned out great work, and would have been affordable for this film.

This is why you need and want depth in production and writing, and why the unions are so critical to good entertainment.
