The Gate wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either. I think that with some tighter editing, they could have pulled off a much better movie. The special effects were great, and it had that quintessential 80s vibe going on—it's clear this served as reference material for Stranger Things.

Because that's what scares kids the most, right? Being killed by demons is abstract, but your parents finding out you trashed the house is a real fear.

There were zombies and demons and eyes and portals and flashlights and rockets and moths and holes and only the dog knows how much of that was real, but it was a wild ride nonetheless. Thanks as always @Taweret for hosting and everybody for posting!

@apLundell I thought this, too, especially since they kept showing how, when the demons left, things went back to normal (like walls, doors, ground, etc.), so on some level, it was all a mind game, in their heads.
