I love how the social commentary in this (and also in Poltergeist) is that your house can literally be a hellmouth and emit weird lights, terrible sounds, tons of human screams, and even fireworks, and none of your neighbors will notice or care

these movies are created to condition gringos into only responding out of fear and othering those who aren't like them.

notice how the demons are always black and semitic looking.

when Trump talks about us latines as maggoty hordes crossing the border and terrorizing their women and children, these are the images and feelings he conjures up on his cult followers.

horror movies are always about what would happen if the terrorized didnt have whiteness to protect them

It was terribly silly, but if you consider the fact that the target audience was Glen and Terry (who later became Ducky and Garth), i.e. 12yo kids, it was pretty good. A kid's horror movie.

Plex needed to be updated, then my Wifi needed to be reset, so it's times like these that I sort of just want to put a movie on a memory stick and see if the stupid TV can just play it locally. Godforsaken technology, getting in the way of my trashy movies! LOL!

@Taweret Yep. Thanks for hosting, and I would not have ever watched this all the way through if the gang were not here with me

That was significantly more exothermic than I was expecting.

in many Agatha Christie and Conan Doyle stories, the rich fuckwads Poirot or Holmes or Ms Marple hsve to deal with usually came to their money by some of the most vile aspects of colonialism.

this zombie guy must have been the farmer who lost everything to the speculators that built the house those kids live in.

again, it goes perfect with the satanic panic theme. whites trying to,cope with the violence that their wealth and privilege represents

Cheering that the parents are just not a part of this. LOL.

Wow, this film actually turned a decent profit?? Nearly 2x opening weekend...

And of course it's a Toronto-filmed film.

@bunnyhero We did a project where we built them and shot them off. I think it was for school, but it may have been Boy Scouts. It seems like kind of a Boy Scouts thing.

not gonna lie .. there is some for real teenage dialog in this thing

A teenage girl with planets in a poster? Okay, she's a bit more with-it than I originally gave her credit for.
