This is the County Plastic Wrap Fair.
#monsterdon
@CactuarJoe Already creepy. #Monsterdon #SilverBullet #StephenKing πΊπ₯πΏ
BOOOOO, WE WANT MORE ADO, FUCK OFF #monsterdon
With that narration I'm expecting the line "Do you guys wanna' see a dead werewolf body?" #Monsterdon #SilverBullet
The reverend is from Twin Peaks!
I hope the narrator is speaking from a future in which everyone has been turned into a werewolf. Stephen King wouldn't do that for us, though, would he?
#Monsterdon #SilverBullet1985
Is that the final girl slipping away from the crowd? #Monsterdon
Top creepy character in many Steven King movies is the reverend.
Narrator.
I grew up in white suburbia in the 80s.
I have one reaction to "loved each other as much as they loved themselves."
[distant, long, and forced bitter laughing.]
Hearing this you realize how rare it is to hear a female voice as narrator in a film.
Is this expository voice-over kinda lame? Yes.
Does it work well enough? Yes.
I miss expository voice-overs in film.
oh we gonna jaws again?
That's using your head!
#monsterdon
king really has a hard on for leave it to beaver style all white small towns huh?
The drunk is not coming back!
#monsterdon #silverbullet
Wait has there been some ado I missed?
#monsterdon What a wholesome scene! Surely nothing will happen to disturb this hamlet.
clean cut
#Monsterdon
anne of green gables is here!
Poor guy. No one gave af that his head was smacked right off. #Monsterdon #SilverBullet #StephenKing πΊπ₯πΏ
these band nerds just discovered monty python, let's hope they get werewolfed next
Beheading is just a natural consequence of chronic drunkenness, it checks out
I really wish rn that this was a David Lynch film. #Monsterdon
This narration is way too much like the narration of The Lover.
Decapaslap! #Monsterdon #SilverBullet1985
Ok THAT was a great match cut!
"as much as they cared about themselves"
which is to say, not at all.
As a kid of the '80s...ouch.
What *was* the obsession with slant parking anyway?
Ain't no small town like a Stephen King small town.
Oh WOW decapitation this fast in the movie! That was grim!
Everyones looking up, wondering from whence comes the narration.
Baby Big Ed?!
Wow! Starting off strong with a flying severed head.
Also he never did have his head taped on straight. We all offered to get some big bolts, but he said that wasn't his style...
Decapitation!
Well, that's an early spinning decapitation. One of the fastest first kills in a long time.
#monsterdon
literally no one was ahead on the story is what you're telling me
And his head goes sailing off in an arc!
Whoa decapitation
This is no training accident!
sign that wolf up for the knicks!
Oh them chronic drunks always having their heads severed after a bender. #Monsterdon
#monsterdon
Directed by Dan Attias
Heads Up! #Monsterdon #SilverBullet
"aw shit" you said it
#Monsterdon π¨ > π ? πΊ ! = π±
everyone please clap for @jivens who had to set up the non-optimal viewing config and got it done in time for us to start with everyone!
DECAPITATION! That has to be a speed run time for loss of head in a movie.
#Monsterdon #SilverBullet1985
Yikes! Flying head!
Silver Bullet (1985) #Watching #Monsterdon https://letterboxd.com/imdb/tt0090021
just sliiiiiiidin' into this railroad station
YESSSSSSSSS
The novella this is based on was originally conceived as a series of darkly humorous flash fictions for a novelty Stephen King calendar, that would track a werewolf over the course of the year. But it quickly ballooned into a wild EC comic kind of thing.
This is absolutely the tone of the source material, lol, heads roll. #monsterdon
Severed head cuts to barber shop. #Monsterdon
I thought for a second that this was directed by Daniel Atlas. He'd absolutely do the cheap severed head thing. #monsterdon
So we're watching a movie about beer...
Corey Haim! LOL
Whatβs with 80s movies that always used this exact font face for credits?
das rhinegold (beer)
Did he say he wants some "Reingold" as in like from the ring cycle?
bigfoot?
#monsterdon
Wheeeee
oh no bigfoot

π Look for
...Gary Busey to ad lib most of his lines.
His lines were approved later by Stephen King, who liked them better than the script.
"You scared of boogey men?" He asks, as Stephen King's writing credit oozes across the screen.
#monsterdon Subtitles immediately spoil what creature is lurking. Not that it's a real surprise if you saw the movie poster of course...
Drunk driving hits different on a rail service car. #Monsterdon #SilverBullet1985
First person growling, love it!
#Monsterdon #SilverBullet1985
I think the werewolf needs some Ricola
#monsterdon There is something far more terrifying than a werewolf in this movie. It has Gary Bussey.
@ramsey Definitely one of the Coreys of all time.
Steven KIng's Disco Elysium.
#monsterdon you know what they say about creatures with big footprints
one-person railway car, living the dream
#monsterdon
I think I may need several Rheingold beers to get through this
#monsterdon I can't find this on Tubi to save my hide... hahahahah I'll be along. Maybe.
Meghan Follows? What about Meghan Leads?
how many 80s horror movies have a seen where a countrified man sings and talks to himself before he gets attacked and why was that a thing
drunk engineering is never a good idea whether it's software, civil, or railroad
Back when for very brief moments of time, Gary Busey could be mistaken for a regular guy. #Monsterdon
Oh that's class. #monsterdon
Couldn't even get a full novel, tsk tsk
Based on a novelette. Oh. Oh no. #Monsterdon
Would that be a DUI?
Uhh, Dino DeLaurentis, fancy
#Monsterdon
Ah, Spring 1976. Every town's long nightmare.
Narrarion lol
Heck yeah time to traumatize some kids.
NOOOOO not narration!!!
Oh, right, it's #Monsterdon , where we're watching that one movie where machines go mad...
*whsiper whsiper whisper*
Wrong Stephen King movie, we're watching Silver Bullet.
Welp, now I gotta skip ahead. #Monsterdon #SilverBullet1985
ooo a novelette turned into a feature length movie #monsterdon
I'm sorry, I can't abide by Dino De Laurentis without a kicking Toho opening theme.
