Wow, that sucked so bad. And noone quietly sidled up to Gene Roddenberry and said, "Ya know, about the entire idea of this thing, the dialogue, the script, ... uhhh.. what the fuck were you thinking?"

#monsterdon This is a strange story for a pilot episode.

I don't like overly explainy pilot episodes, but ... this show has an unfrozen man from the past ... and that had exactly nothing to do with the plot.

Was there more of that they cut out?

@ricci wait, wait. In college, a friend’s younger sister starting calling us β€œdinks” when bunch of us were at their place one Friday night, making pizzas, as, apparently, dinks do. After over 50 years, it all makes sense now. Thank you

The mistake so much sci-fi makes is it over estimates how interested people will be in it just because it's 'futuristic'. They don't build any characters or intriguing story lines in favor of mostly garbage looking effects. Not always. There's been some good science fiction films....#monsterdon

The thing is... there's nothing good about this... but the acting is the worst part of this

it's like they weren't even on the same sound stage for this

Super funny. had a devil of a time separating Planet Earth from Star Trek. But once it got tuned in, it started dropping the funny. Here’s a quip: β€œIt’s like Logan’s Run meets Footloose:
no one is prepared for how weirdly sincere it all is.” Yup. LOL. 1974… one year before me. GenX grew up in some really weird times. LOL.

It wasn't as heinous as Death Race 2000, I'll give it that. But Gene was such a lecherous old man, and it shows.

Honestly, if they had negative integers in ratings, this film would be one of the few and the proud in that zone

Wow this was some spot-on bullshit of a film! Thanks, @Taweret and everyone in this week for your great comments!

ok cool after beating up the invaders it's revealed that everyone else has not been drugging their dinks anyway because everyone else has been able to fend off the orc guy shakedowns, and the men are now... empowered.. to do something... and we have learned.. to not drug the men, however slavery remains unquestioned, and ahhh uhhh #monsterdon

so like the theory of gender is that women are direct and small skirmishes establish a clear meritocratic chain of dominance, and men are bad because they lie and that makes larger wars and politics and whatnot. and then we have just a typically militaristic man faction that seems to be perfectly truthful just like lower gravely voices and sorta ugly looking. what are they setting up here exactly? #monsterdon

excuse me all these conversations are still about dinks, the lengths to which this movie will go to avoid a Bechdel pass are astounding
