is the twist supposed to be that this was the first stage of an alien invasion?

and also that motor boats for some reason are immune just like the married couple's car?

OK. Can we have credits? #Monsterdon. This time I did not vote to watch this. The music is good. I mean... It wasn't like, "I really wish I hadn't watched" or worse... But I can't say it was one of the better ones.

I guess I'm glad I watched. Because now I know. I'm sure it "all makes sense" if you don't miss the first half hour. Right? I mean... It didn't
not make sense, but it was, "why is this an hour and a half, not 20 minutes"... But that probably can be expected.

no, I want this to end with a scene in the future where an elderly truck is telling this story to its truck grandchild, the story of how the truck society began

The main character's watch has appeared and disappeared between shots a few times in this movie.

Which is usually a mistake, but in *this* movie, I think it's just hopping off to do its own side quest for a few minutes.

If I didn’t know this was a Steven King movie, I’d swear this was a fever dream some trucker had midway across Nebraska after eating a very bad truck station cheeseburger

The bulldozer honking out a message in Morse code begging humans for fuel service reveals that the killer machines..:

1. understand written English
2. possess a theory of mind about the humans they're killing
3. are willing to reprioritize their objectives when circumstances change...
4. ...but lacked the foresight to anticipate their fuel running out beforehand..?

Serious question, how simultaneously smart and foolish are these antagonists supposed to be, exactly?

This crappy music is giving me flashbacks of playing SNES Doom and feeling cool about it

Heavy "The Happening" vibes. Like, everyone on set had to know that this is a dumb movie

Morse code? Uh, what?

Also I think most people decode by writing out the dots/dashes and then working it out, can anyone actually keep up with hearing it fast enough to decode it by ear?

Maybe the ham radio folks I guess? Old school telegraph operators?
