The infamous elbow blade.
Somebody (producers? someone at Daiei?) didn't want the elbow blade in the movie after it sowed up in design notes. The special effects people made it anyway and filmed the shot. Test screenings like it so it ended up in the movie and this gamera started to evolve in the rest of the trilogy.
