@aprilfollies it really does have some Mahou Shoujo vibes, but also being a fan of that genre means I was watching like 'oh she's putting in psychic work/doing a big determination/being brave enough to deal with the injuries' etc., making sure to get to where Gamera is physically by waylaying a cab driver etc; like I interpret it as her actively doing stuff, not just being passive #monsterdon

@lytta in this movie it seems like sort of a chivalrous love (neutral derogatory/complimentary) where gamera is distant and will do anything for you except come and support you at your show or when you are having a crappy day. but they spent so much time on the biology and saying that everyone is gay that i do like how they established this sort of distributed system of pure spiritual lesbian love that materializes as a gigantic jet turtle that is the most powerful thing in the world thing, no problems with that. #monsterdon
