Back at base, I mean the flying saucer, most of the spacemen are bunked down for the night, with two standing guard outside. One of them hears some breathing but doesn't see anything. We see inside the saucer that a hatch is lifted and a metal arm is moved.

The next morning, we learn that something was sabotaged and the captain is yelling at the guard crew for not noticing what happened (except for the guy who heard breathing and another guy who had a dream).
