Will the spider become a beatnik and start wearing a beret and grow a goatee?

I know a fair amount about period telecommunication devices but I couldn't tell you why people in movies would jiggle the hookswitch when they thought the connection was broken.

Mike is compliant. Maybe he suspects SHE WILL BRING THE COFFEE… if he just pushes her enough.

I love how the 1950s had this notion of scientist who could look at like 4 black and white photos, and then tell you the entire origin story and lifecycle of an alien creature. Back when we thought scientists were super smart.

Do we even want to start with how spiders have book lungs, and the limit on their size is the concentration of oxygen in their environment? So, ours is around 20% oxygen on Earth, used to be higher, so that's why spiders have been naturally shrinking over the millions of years they've been with us. Less O2, smaller spiders, because of their book lungs.

"Do you realize how easily they could overcome us humans?'

Not… not that easily. Giant spiders are terrifying, but they're solitary creatures and ambush hunters that size would have some serious problems.

I mean, it's not like they're giant ants. THOSE would be terrifying. We'd stand no chance against … THEM!
