Notice that tonight's feature's film title is different than that on the ad posters.
It started as "The Spider" but later was changed "Earth vs. the Spider".
But before the movie was released, "The Fly" became a blockbuster. Producers decided to change the title back to "The Spider" and use the old posters and advertising material. Unfortunately, the film was in the can and the title on it could not be changed.

Hmmm, the opening credits show an orbweaver (family Araneidae, part of Araneomorphae) in its distinctive web, but the spider in the trailer was a tarantula (family Theraphosidae), a mygalomorph which does not build capture webs. I have the feeling this movie might not be the most scientifically accurate.
