seriously tho if you think Pam Grier is dripped out in this movie, I cannot overemphasize the importance of GHOSTS OF MARS as a cultural icon

#Monsterdon Well, the second half was better than the first half.

I mean, it was still very stupid, but at least it wasn't a conservative old man's fantasy about how kids today don't have any respect.

they are doing so little with the killer robot teachers, but i'm so biased on this movie because of the goofy ass costumes i dont' even care. like the most robot thing they have done is the spankings #monsterdon

#monsterdon when I was trying to figure out my audio problems, I switched to the the commentary track long enough to hear somebody saying they heard a band in a club and told them they wanted to buy their music for the movie, so they did for $100 per song, and it was NIN

It's no "Power of the Night" but this power ballad is a perfectly 1990 ending to this perfectly 1990 movie

it was one of the movies of all time, but the VFX people deserve everything, there was a lot to love about the effects in this movie. Stunts too!

#Monsterdon This movie does raise an interesting philosophical question though.

How many gang members can die to save a single preppy girl and still be considered a happy ending?

I was entertained. I think someone heard about Kindergarten Cop coming out later that year and thought, β€œWhat if we put terminators in the classroom?”

As always, thanks to @Taweret for hosting, @cherizilla for the bingo card, @JoeWynne for the drink recipe and trivia, @ryan for the live stream, @paco for data analysis at gallery.don.monster, @combatwombat for the replay, and all of you for making it awesome!

they made such a big deal out of the monitoring the robots control room before but now that they are on a citywide killing spree there is nobody at the wheel. they literally aren't even doing "defend the killer robot company from being discovered" they are just getting revenge #monsterdon

I can't imagine playing a gig where my instructions are "Only play your music when the audience is fighting and firing their guns into the air. Otherwise, don't play."

if you were the primary point of contact for a company that rents killer robots you should probably hire an image consultant to help you look less like the most evil guy in the world #monsterdon

The most unrealistic part of this movie, by far, is how much money and attention is being poured into education.

Joining #Monsterdon late because I got distracted with Mina the Hollower.

The subtitle [Spanking continues] is a hell of a place to join the party.

#Monsterdon If I was in charge of converting war robots to teachers, I'd probably have removed the ammo from their rocket launchers.

To prevent damage to the facilities if nothing else.

There are a couple of people in my feed who always post about this thing, which sounds like an entertaining undertaking (sometimes mainly by catharsis of collective suffering, of course), so it kinda bums me out that it's only a thing for a location that I can't participate in timezone-wise.

Europe deserves low-budget terrible movies, too. They may not have invented the idea, but they've made their fair share of contributions.

Well that film was really messed-up and cheesy but fun!

Thanks everyone in tonight, and to @Taweret for hosting. Nice choice!

When my son was in his late teens, he worked at Lowe's in the summers. He even got his forklift certification.

But wow: Look at this kid: he can ram the blade of the forklift through the monster's chest without touching the girl.
