ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE isn't nearly as dark as the expectations it constantly sets up. It's still pretty darn creepy. A lonely old man seems warm and friendly but his inability to understand that people don't like being miniaturized and held captive warns of the unfillable void he has in his heart. No matter how much he chatters with his neighbors, he is unable to form friendships. Even at the end when he's about to get busted while protesting that he's so lonely, this is the 1950s and no one's going to know how to help him. And that is the horror.

My own suggestion for a sequel:

They're all in jail for making wild accusations against this poor lonely old man because no one ever believed them when they kept saying over and over that he shrunk all of them using a sonic shrink ray that disintegrates people but doesn't actually disintegrate them.

The old man shrinks more people and the same thing happens again. Then they get arrested too.

The little girl gets her own pocket kitty and is much more careful this time.
