the ending i thought they were going for with the "you get to live but you have to go to the women's version of stepford" is much more interesting imo - not in a "women do patriarchy too" kind of way, but as in the women are forced into a projected version of what men believe women want from a man robot, the dynamics of patriarchy never being 'final' but transmuted into a meta-conflict between the governance of two stepfords, contending with gendering as a prism of projecting desire and systematizing someone else as much as something you enact yourself #monsterdon

Downside of watching #monsterdon one night and reading/posting the next is having to sit with the creepy vibes after BOTH. Did not think this part through.

Really great film. The real monster were the incels.
