I'm into it! I'll buy Donlevy as a bossy American technology guy, fast-talking everyone. It almost feels like a deliberate choice of adaptation, like someone in production has slipped in a bit of incidental social commentary.

It was Americans who were really into stunts like what we're getting from Dr. #Quatermass. They were shooting people up into space for questionable reasons, inviting gawd only knows what trouble.

β€œI’m afraid the camera won’t tell us anything.” It doesn’t look like the film is hanging out, exposed to light, so what’s the problem?

I know what I'm doing! I'm being emasculated by doubting Thomas constabularies. You just ask questions, endless questions! LIKE THE BRITISH. Whine mope and endlessly ask questions. ;) He's from Fanduel! OKAY!

Irish-American actor Brian Donlevy might have added interest for the American audience, but he did not act consistently with the character for some involved in production.

🍸 Worse, he was suffering from alcoholism, as writer/director Val Guest found when brandy was discovered in Donlevy's ever-present coffee flask.

Guest: "Brian was all right, no problem at all once you kept him sober".
