This process of shutting locks from a central location ahead of where creatures were observed seems awfully like potential inspiration for the scene in Alien (1979) where Captain Dallas is hunting the eponymous creature in the air ducts and calling for the vent gate to be irised shut behind him.

The exciting romantic subplot continues where Navy Commander asks Secretary #2 if she'll go out to dinner and first she says 'no' but then later she says yes' so we can observe a completely riveting dinner conversation.
He has to leave to check into base and she gets sick of watching another couple neck so she goes to wish in a wishing well that this restaurant has for some reason.
Maybe it's the restaurant's gimmick. A gimmick well.

The monster growls then eats one of the divers. The other one swims back up.
While the divers are netting up the giant salt crystal, we see that a Monster is staring at them. It looks kind of like a centipede or something, with two eyes and mandibles. The music decides to be Super Ominous whenever it appears on the screen. It looks hungry or maybe angry.
The divers then find another spooky body with bulging eyes under the water, trapped in seaweed. They try to cut it loose then one of them gets their tank stuck.
