β€œDo you understand?”

β€œNo. Of course not.”

I think these lines don’t mean what the writers think they mean.

We send some more important sailors to look for our missing sailors, and they approach in an identical boat. They find a young Colonel Sanders unconscious in the boat, I assume he was the bulging eye guy; all other sailors are missing.

We also find some monster cum on the side of the boat and decide to take a sample of it after rubbing our hands on it.

Oh wait, then a corpse of Lt. Hollister with a bulging eye surfaces to scare them by looking spooky.

Today's starts with a nuclear explosion, which indicates that this is probably a godzilla scenario.

We then go to the Salton Sea, an inland lake, where a narrator tells us about a naval base there that does atomic experiments and also parachute testing. It had an earthquake underwater too, which we see with a model of some rocks falling down under the sea.

Anyway, our first named character is a Lieutenant Hollister who tests parachutes over the sea.

Launching my thread for The Monster that Challenged the World, today's selection.

Monsterdon is the thing where we watch an old monster movie each week and make fun of it. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they're terrible. Mute the hash tag if you don't want to see all the posts by me and everyone else about this monster movie. Otherwise enjoy the things!

All in all this bad big bug movie wasn't as bad as I expected. The monster was very limited but well used for what there was of it. The cast of characters was interesting (not counting the male lead). The plot was Jaws in a lake.
But it needed to either be a little better or a little worse. As is I'll probably forget most of it by next week. I do wanna stop for breakfast though.

Alrighty reposting again so it's at the other end of the #monsterdon block:

Hey what's up to anyone who might be new to the fedi or new to following me, if you can see this, below this post will be thousands of posts about a movie you did not watch.

You can hide just these posts without muting or blocking monsterdon posters by adding a filter for the #monsterdon hashtag

Terencio

You know what I remember about this movie?

Scheveningen.

Terencio

you just KNOW they had the MFer ignore the axe so that the whole audience would be like: "Use the axe, foo!"

Terencio

there was a mop AND a broom. Gail and Sandy were halfway to a Macedonian Phalanx!

Secretary 2 should just grab that mop and try to fight the monster, since sticks worked very well against it last time.

We flip the switch and explode some giant snails. The commander drives back to the office, where Secretary #2 and Ladybug Girl are hanging out. Ladybug Girl goes to check on her rabbits, but their zoom rooms have been smashed and are now covered with Defensive Snail Juice. Also there's a monster in our lab now. Everybody scream.

Why so defensive Ted? Are you ok?

No I'm not. I'm going through some stuff. I'm sorry I snapped.
