So did this movie stumble so Godzilla could run? You can see the clear post-war scientific inspiration: terrible, powerful atomic stuff that is unfathomably dangerous to humans because it doesn't alert any of our senses, unlike most other threats

So you want to make a movie about how dangerous it is

But for a movie, you actually do need to focus it into something we can sense, like a big dinosaur/dragon

Y'know, in real life we give major radioactive disasters scary and ominous names like "the demon core" or "the elephant's foot".

But we still don't talk about them like they're literal forces of evil trying to consume us. We just don't conceptualize these things as monstrous, not in that way at at least.

So it feels really weird to get to the end of the movie and he's acting like "yes, we defeated the evil monster!"

Buddy you did not earn that. You buried a spicy rock.

Aww. Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
Isn't she precious?
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love?

That movie was fucking terrible, and not in a good way at all. I'm ashamed to admit I may have voted for it based only on the title. Kaiju next week please #monsterdon

ok i don't think i had seen this one after all. i was thinking of another 50s b-movie where there wasn't an actual monster but some science stuff instead. wish i could remember what it was called #monsterdon

I think it's safe to say that was #Monsterdon 's Radar Secret Service. A slow, boring movie about Government Men Protecting The Public where nothing happens and we all nearly go mad from the sheer tedium.

so... he had a wife so we would know he'd be the one to survive the film? i mean, if he just needed someone to spout the moral of the film at, he had plenty of co-workers. #monsterdon
