Should you not wish to read through them, here's how to filter them out, at least on the web browser:

@Configures @jsadow I don't think he hung himself ... there was the suggestion of facial trauma like he'd been beaten, and nothing around to have stood on to assist with the hanging. I'd guess the girlfriend's father reacted badly then lied about it, but why have such a loose end laying around?

A big thank you to @Taweret for hosting tonight's enjoyable film. That it was also one I hadn't seen before was a plus. A bit light on the death (one hanging, one decapitation, one by misadventure, and two Gorgonizations with a possible third - Cushing dropped pretty fast, might have been a heart attack before the stoning got him) but a ton of costume and scenery and the eating thereof. A proper Hammer film!

@jsadow But, if the libertine Bohemian artist (I just like saying that) wasn't in the film, then we wouldn't have had a reason for the father to step in (and get Gorgonized), nor for the father's friend (?) to come to town, and thus, Christopher Lee would never have been involved and the film would have had a very different ending.

But who hung the artist? It was fairly clear he didn't do it himself.

I could maybe try to count "Monster Weakness Discovered" for a bingo, but nah. Not with all the mythology going on in this movie being undercut in the climax.

I had a lot of fun with this one, though! It's unmistakeably of its era, but I think quite fun. The sets were beautiful, the dialogue was all performed quite well. Even the writing had a few nice things going on when it wasn't dripping Greek mythology goop from a blender.
