NEGL it's the first time i see El Santo use a gun. maybe because they shot the scene for a gringo audience?

in Latinoamerica, if movies were going to be shown to a USA audience, they would change scenes or add them. in many of our countries owning guns was illegal, so i doubt El Santo holding a gun was a thing for the Mexican market, but now i want to research this. i love all this pop-cult lore.

Doing a wrapup post while still catching up on the other comments- a #monsterdon tradition! Thanks @Taweret as always for hosting, @JoeWynne for an _excellent_ cocktail reccomendation (highly recommended), @cheribaker for the bingo card and everyone else for making this one somewhat bearable. We saw:
- A gigantic metal ass. Robot sold separately
- Seriously, imagine being film's first "robocop" cyborg, and you find out that not only are you not scary, because you look like a small child's toy you're that twee, but you don't even get a butt.
- A film that did not make Collider.com's "10 Movies With the Best Flashbacks, According to Reddit"
- A Caped, masked villain who stole exactly one(1) scene and was never seen again
- An adaptation of an ancient tragic love story comparable to The West Side Story. Wait, no I take that back. We didn't see that.
- Some incredible scenery chewing, headwear, trumpet work, and that cemetery borracho. The mummy was okay too, when he actually did anything.

@CactuarJoe @moira As I understand the Aztec Mummy Cinematic Universe:

1. The Aztec Mummy (1957)
2. The Curse of the Aztec Mummy (1957) - with flashbacks to 1. Currently watching.
3. The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy (1957) - with flashbacks to 1. and 2. Watched today.
4. The Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy (1964) - Did that one have flashbacks? Watched on Nov 17 on #monsterdon

That means, instead of a proper spider movie we have to watch The Aztec Mummy next week to get the whole story.

I only just got *Curse of the Aztec Mummy* playing. Had problems with plex. I've jumped to about the right time, but there's a dude in his underwear and a cape. Is that the Curse? #monsterdon

If the footage didn't wind up on the cutting room floor, which it probably did, given the cuts the director left, some pensive thought by the actors just before they were asked to "go on" would have helped sell the story a bit. If this cut into the time budget, they could have deleted a bunch of standing around scenes, and/or walked faster.

Overall, given the era, it was certainly worth the Young America Horror Club seal of approval. I look forward to seeing more of their picks.

it will probably be entertaining to watch the commentary on the optional second mummy movie which i am not myself watching... is this one from earlier in the series? later? weirdly unrelated?
