Is this the Neil Sedaka song that everything ever written about this movie references? Because it sure seems a lot less noteworthy than I was led to believe.

What this movie needs is Bud the CHUD. And Piranhas. Radioactive Survivors of The Stuff... anything but this… dancing…

Welcome to our boatside pool party. We have both an ocean and a swimming pool. Swimming suits are Strongly Suggested for women, who are Not Allowed to swim. Swimming Suits are forbidden for men, who Are Allowed to Swim.

For entertainment we have alcohol, twisty dances and a one eyed man to harass for no reason.

We decide to go outside and admire the swimming pool by our Modernist Everglades Boomer Mansion. We learn there will be a party tomorrow where we bring over college students for what I must assume will be a drunken science orgy.

Anyway, said college students arrive on a boat, suitably drunk and twisting. We do the twisty dances. Twist, twist, twist. Also the camera points all the Girl Butts (TM).

Later Karen is listening to the radio when Igon sneaks up on her to set up the romance subplot - there's a love triangle between Karen, Igon and the Stripe Shirt Guy whose name I do not care to recall.

I think maybe if you find a dead body and are sad about it and someone asks you why you are sad you should maybe tell them about the dead body instead of talking about your dance moves.

...Here, you can see where all men play on ten, never gonna turn down again.

After the girl characters wander off, a sheriff rolls up in his police boat to talk to the head bump guy, who had some equipment stolen earlier (probably the radio we saw sabotaged earlier). The sheriff tells the dudes that he found a dead guy in the water and asks headbump guy to look at the dead guy because he's a marine biologist, and dead humans are basically dead fish that have tricked themselves into walking.

Tonight's starts with neither credits nor a jaunty anime opening sequence, rather we start with a POV view of a person and/or monster sabotaging a radio that is giving plot pertinent news about a fisherman who drowned. More notably, we are also watching a 60s babe do a sunbathing in a retro bikini (TM).

These two plots collide when the monster attacks the sunbathing woman, dragging her into the water and drowning her; he looks like a diver but we don't see his face.

Creepy Assjack, check… Daddy has some cranial trauma, and we're off to the races fetching Orangeade. Not COFFEE. But she’ll get points... I don't expect the Bechdel test will have any points on this one.

Launching my thread for a movie that I think involves a killer jellyfish or something.

Monsterdon is the thing where we watch an old monster movie every week and make fun of it. Sometimes the movies are good, usually they are less so. If you do not wish to see millions of posts about this old monster movie, consider muting the hash tag, otherwise please to enjoy!

The music is telling me this should be an Esther Williams routine, but the picture is telling me someone swam through my dock's rope lighting.

Oh no, monster claw! Our blonde bathing beauty is in peril! And despite having been dragged into the... ocean..? ...her lipstick remains PERFECT
