Several major changes had to be made for this movie.

🎞️ First, Godzilla's face had to be made less scary - to work as Dad for the child character.

🎞️ Second, the whole suit had to be taller, to look properly against the monster child. That forced a taller actor (not stalwart Haruo Nakajima) to be in the Godzilla suit for most of the movie.
