They’ve totally eradicated the Rodans because. Umm.
Just because. But they succeeded (for now). So yay?

And now the volcano begins to erupt as well. But everything’s fine. Let’s go on vacation.

practical effects are fun to look at even when they're bad and especially when they're good

cgi is boring to look at even when it's good and especially when it's bad

@trixter @CactuarJoe Yes, but also, look up mechanical computers. I'm not trying to be snide, it's amazing what they did mechanically. So much SF from this era actually makes more sense if you know about mechanical computers and how they worked.

(And at one time "computer" was even a job title!)

(This time adding #monsterdon because I'm like... kinda into mechanical computers xD )

Damn, this Japanese release is much more of creepy, cold open. All we know is that something happened in the mine, people are hurt and one guy was pulled out unconscious. The miners' families are there and in shock. #monsterdon

Wait a minute, the nuclear tests had absolutely zero to do with anything. Mining was responsible for all the monsters. Literally just a five minute commercial for blowing the shit out of "uninhabited" islands #monsterdon

ok on the dub version the explanation for the bugs goes like this.
"We can't be sure, we can only operate on theories... so i will advance this theory with complete certainty: Rodan were buried by a volcano until atomic bombs fractured the earth's crust and warm air and water got in there, and the warm water caused the egg to hatch, and that also explains the giant insects" and that is the last time they are mentioned. #monsterdon

I did not expect both of them to get killed by the same method. Figured one would die and the other would go berserk. They could've had another whole 20 minutes and still come in at 90 #monsterdon
