A full cavalry sword and not a bayonet. Yeah, fine, it's... a nine millimeter handgun, and a dead hat. I wonder if they followed through with the blanks or just went with live ammo.

A lot of the sound effects for the original Star Trek were actually from a sound effect library that had been in use in movies for a couple of decades, so it's not too surprising to hear some of them showing up in older sci-fi movies.

These are generally believed to be public domain now, and you can get a lot of them from FreeSound.org or Archive.org

Well, here we are. The movie is knowing it's silly, which of course buys it 100 points to start. R. I. Diculous. Okay. “(Wow!)" and “(Wow! Wow!)” and that's something special.

It was a Bad Movie™, which is the point of #Monsterdon. Some are better than others. Some have aged well. This one hadn't.

They were ahead of their time for the zany, absurdist humor that Monty Python would later excel at, while desperately grasping at (and failing to pull off) the slapstick humor the Stooges and Marx Brothers were known for.

Nevertheless, thanks to @Taweret for hosting, @Cherizilla for organizing bingo, and to all of you for making it fun!

Both the leads in this film were credited as snappy shortened version of their names.

I really get the feeling they were trying to establish themselves as a hilarious comedy duo.

They probably imagined themselves as a beloved act that appeared in dozens of movies like The Three Stooges or Abbot and Costello. #monsterdon
