If anyone is looking for a entry point to the Discworld novels because of #monsterdon, I suggest starting with the book Mort. Mort is the last guy remaining at a job fair and ends up becoming Death's apprentice. Very funny.

Mort is (also), Susan's father. Death adopted Mort, so Susan's name is properly Susan Death.

so Discworld is a parody of flat-earthers? cuz if it is; that's wicked awesome.

OK - seeing that people are having lots of trouble streaming #monsterdon this week. I set up a peertube instance just to try it out a little bit ago, and apparently it has p2p-powered live-streaming so it shouldn't be too much server load to just make a stream of the movie each week. takes a bit of the charm out of everyone watching multiple versions at different times out of it, but would ppl be interested in trying that? I'm not sure if i can stream from an already-uploaded video but i'm sure that wouldn't be too hard to hack together.
