As much as I want to do Day Of The Animals, I'll be voting for Food Of The Gods because I think it's about aliens eating people, and I need a break from animal horror. We've done a lot of it this summer

I also think all the fake blood in this movie looked like it was just partially set cherry flavored Jell-o. They're lucky the bear didn't try to lick them to death.

Anyone else notice that the sound of the bazooka shell flying seemed to happen like 3-4 or so seconds before he actually fired it? I half expected someone else to be standing there with another bazooka!

@Violinknitter Oh no! It worked for me, no glitching near the end, so I saw the rocket launch all the way through the end. Now says "appreciate the stream? search #MutualAid " and watch grizzly2 seriously the this cast for G2, wow, Laura Dern, Charlie Sheen, Louise Fletcher (Nurse Ratchet(, George Clooney, John Rhys-Davies #Monsterdon #Grizzly

I feel like one of the major issues with Grizzly (1976) was that no stakes were upped at any point. The humans didn't get any more sophisticated as victims, and the bear didn't change its tactics at all. It was just a series of essentially identical bear maulings. And maybe it says something about desensitization that a series of fatal bear maulings can get really boring after a few, but still. #Monsterdon

37 years in the making! Wow, the Sistine Chapel only took four years... Imagine how good Grizzly II must be!

#monsterdon haha gg my copy turned into a radio drama at about 1:27:something when it froze here, i'd be upset if it weren't Grizzly, which I still contend we were never meant to watch:

And bear go boom.

Thus ends another #Monsterdon

Full of racism, sexism, and bears that definitely weren’t grizzlies.

And men yelling at one another, cannot forget that.

Thanks everyone for tooting along, and thanks to @tawny for hosting!

Silly idea for a better (maybe) movie: have most of it being 2-4 characters who are actively hunting the bear, and it's all about the difficulties in tracking, etc. With actual research on these things. And maybe a side on how this is different from being in Vietnam.

@nev @miru in my defense I listened to like 50% of it with occasional glances at the screen.

But yea, I grade on a curve for how old the movie is. For a JAWS-like so close to the original release, that was honestly a lot better than I expected it to be.

I award Grizzly 1 out of 5 asthmatic bear snorts of approval. I'm rounding down from 1.5, because all the men yelling at each other made me bored. It suffered from trying to inject a lot of plot to seem serious, but also making that plot rather boring.

Good aspects:
Trees
Insane Orchestra
Bear Exploding when hit by Anti-Tank Rocket
Nonsensical Bear Behaviors

Bad Aspects:
Angry 70s Men
80% of the Dialog
Nonsensical Bear Behaviors

was really hoping they would have crashed the helicopter into the bear or something to blow it up, but sure, rocket launcher is also fine i guess
