It's funny that the theme song and title sequence suggest an ahead-of-its-time beach party film style, and then it's all adults written without a trace of understanding teenagers

Apparently The Blob was supposed to be a double with I Married a Monster from Outer Space. Just the title alone feels like it would fit into #Monsterdon

Ok, I'm seeing people say the dog didn't die, but:

The blob pulled back from the meat freezer

The dog was barking at it, but at that point switched to frantic yelping

Then it stopped

Jane said "that poor little dog!!" and got really upset

Steve said "we can't do anything about it now"

...isn't that pretty conclusive?

I liked the scene where Steve is trying to puzzle out what is going on in the second half. He's just an awkward young man, not a trained troubleshooter! And I loved how Jane supported him, when she saw he was trying to tell the weird truth and save the town. Sure, she fainted once, but she didn't scream her head off. #Monsterdon

I live about 20 miles from where this movie was shot, I have been to the restaurant in Downingtown where the teens were hanging out in the basement

It's a very strangely constructed building and the thing I remember most is a bathroom with 2 toilets

Just like a home bathroom, no stalls or extra sinks or anything, a room that just happened to have 2 toilets side by side
