I make goofs because it's what I do, but there's a lot of interesting stuff going on in this movie I appreciate. #monsterdon

We've passed the halfway mark and it sometimes feels like the second act has barely even started. This is a strange pace.

Instead of cutting from person to person as they speak, just swing the camera around real fast. Very much of a handheld shaky-cam feel in certain scenes, pretty interesting.

I don't have that much to say about this movie overall because it's actually good.

@lytta there is this sort of sweet spot of social species where it can survive - you only gain advantage from body doubles in a species that is social enough that it has status or social differentiation by individual identity, but they can't be socially advanced enough to detect whatever limited mimicry they are able to pull off. so it just miscalibrated this time and humans are just above its mimicry/differentiation ratio threshold

@lytta it's super slow and super discoverable if that's what they're doing. must have very robust spores that can go dormant to be able to spread through the galaxy like this because i can't see it taking over planets and having a stable host #monsterdon

We should watch Don't Look Now, there's a Donald Sutherland nude sex scene in that one. Also it's a horror movie about grief that pre-dates A24, if you can believe it #monsterdon

Jeff, i would not be sticking my hands in there under the best of circumstances, nevermind during whatever the hell this is that's going on. #monsterdon

@Zerofactorial Rigor mortis only applies during during a certain length of time that is based on both the time of death and environmental conditions. Before it's more like just dead weight. Afterwards a body starts getting kind of goopy.

I know this because *mumble mumble*
