I love leaf-cutter ants! I have never seen them in real life but the nearest colony, as far as I know, is at Montréal's Insectarium.

> Holy shit, the non-existent subdivision has real streets! And ants.

#monsterdon There are still areas in Southwest Florida where you can drive out of the main "Town" and find just rows and rows of empty streets. Basically anyplace that has an "Elkcam" street (The last name of the developers spelled backwards) is a good bet. And you can bet there are going to be ants... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mackle_B

For those of you scrolling through your timeline, you're about to hit a big mass of Monsterdon postings about Empire of the Ants.

Should you not wish to read through them, here's how to filter them out, at least on the web browser:
1) right click on the gears & open in a new tab
2) choose "Filters" then "Add New Filter"
3) give the filter a title, check all boxes under contexts, choose hide completely and put "#Monsterdon" in the keyword box.
4) Click on "Save New Filter"

... and you're done.

I have somehow ended up in both a movie watching club and a book club since embarking on a new form of social media last year. Wild.

(I'm a ridiculous introvert and absolutely not a joiner of organized activities that aren't volunteer work)

#monsterdon My only regret is that ants didn't just eat the entire state and then saw it off the mainland like that bugs bunny cartoon. Anyways, thanks, Ants. _Thants_

for the local: mute #monsterdon if you don't want to see a bunch of toots that make no sense out of context, mostly blathering about ants
