#monsterdon "Starting something you're not going to be able to finish" hold up- wasn't that line in another one we like _just_ watched (within the last 4-5 months?)

Just flat-out putting operation names on signs, as was the style at the time. Showing feminist chops by making the feeemale a scientist who insists on having a name. #monsterdon

Okay, we start with a spooked out narrator, a very zippy flying saucer, a reference to "rice paddies of the orient" and some 1950s airplanes. 1950s airplanes are neat, so that's a plus. So far our characters have been scared people panicking in an airplane and military bureaucrats panicking in an office.

So I'd say this movie is off to a good start.

Usual drill - mute #monsterdon if you'd rather not have flying saucers invading your planet (or your home feed).

Meanwhile - Earth vs the Flying Saucers! We've already had a dramatic narration warning us about these ''UFO' things...

"suggested by" i.e. we saw the title, but by the time this movie went through rewrites it had nothing to do with the original short story. #monsterdon
